The latest version of Saxon is version 8.6. This is a complete and conformant implementation of the XSLT 2.0, XQuery 1.0, and XPath 2.0 Candidate Recommendations published earlier today (3 November 2005) by W3C. This is a significant milestone for the specifications and therefore for Saxon. Although thousands of users have downloaded the product and deployed it in production applications while the specifications were still drafts, many have held back waiting for the language to become stable.
